This beating heart won’t stay steady enough to keep me on this narrow way. With every twist and turn the street beneath my feet begins to burn. So I turn off. So I turn off and leave it alone. There must be something here, beautiful to hold against my dying ears. Before I disappear, send me off with something I’ve not heard. So I turn off and let it go. So I turn off and leave it alone. Wonder why I fail, as I’m hunting down my tail. Wonder why I try at all.
i'm no good so i'll let everyone else do the talking abt how great this album is bc i have more important things to talk abt like that it was recorded in my hometown!! i was walkin around a stupid little ten-year-old and they were in the stu makin this album less than a mile from my house!! what!!!!! Julien Baker is an acquired taste - assuming of course you’ve acquired great taste in singer songwriters… beautiful, devastating, honest, insightful… I’ve not heard a single song of hers that hasn’t left me in absolute awe. crisbroadhurst
A darker and more expansive album for an already dark and expansive band. You & I is the aural equivalent of moving through the depths of an empty forest at midnight thrownofan

This album is pretty much a rollercoaster. Starting off with Desolate.Magnificent, it slowly builds up with it's ambient and foggy sound. You keep thinking to yourself "This is nice and all... but when does the rollercoaster even start?" when right at the 2:47 mark you get launched backwards. Great fucking album. Keep it up! It's ambient sections always help me relax and calm down, it's energetic sections... well energize me!! zo
